ONGOTI bathi isifo sikashukela siqangqalaza phambili ekubulaleni abesifazane baseNingizimu Afrika ukwedlula esenhliziyo, umdlavuza ne-HIV. Kuthiwa ezinye zezinto eziyimbangela zesifo sikashukela kwabesifazane bakuleli,  yisisindo somzimba eseqile.

ISouth African Demographic and Health Survey (SADHS) ithi cishe u-68% wabesifazane banesisindo esikhulu noma eseqile. Amafutha amaningi emzimbeni ikakhulu esiswini, akhulisa amathuba okuba nohlobo lukashukela olubizwa nge-Type 2.

"Sibhekene nenhlekelele kwezempilo, emhlabeni wonke isifo sikashukela sihlasela abesifazane nabesilisa ngokulinganayo. Kodwa eNingizimu Afrika sibona isibalo sabesifazane abaphila nesifo sikashukela sikhula kakhulu, futhi bebhekana nobunzima kakhulu," kuchaza uNkk-Ingrid Singels, oyiMarketing Manager kwiPharma Dynamics.

Kuthiwa umthelela wesifo sikashukela kwabakuleli ubhidlangiswa ikakhulu wufuzo, indlela yokuziphatha (lifestyle) nendawo ohlala kuyo.

Nakuba ufuzo nomlando wasemndenini kunomthelela, kepha indlela yokuziphatha njengokudla okungenamsoco, ukungazivocavoci, isisindo somzimba eseqile, ukubhema, nengcindezi engapheli, kunomthelela nakho.

Ezinye izinto ezingaba yimbangela, kungaba yiminyaka, ukushintsha kwama-hormone (njenge-menopause noma uma ukhulelwe), i-high blood pressure namafutha amaningi emzimbeni.

Ngaphezu kwalokho, kuthiwa ukuhlala eduze kwedolobha nokungasebenzi nakho kunomthelela.


"Ngokujwayelekile eNingizimu Afrika ukuba nomzimba omkhulu kowesifazane kuyanyaniswa nobuhle, ukuba nempilo nokuceba. Nakuba kukuhle ukuthanda umzimba ngendlela owakhiwe ngayo, kubalulekile futhi ukuqaphela  uma isisindo sesisikhulu ngendlela yokuthi sibeka impilo yakho engcupheni," kuchaza uNkk Singels.

Akukho okungelapha isifo sikashukela, kepha ukushintsha indlela yokuphila kungavimba noma kubambezele ukuphathwa yiwo:

• Ukuzivocavoca njalo (kungaba u- 150 minutes ngesonto)
• Ukwehlisa isisindo somzimba, ngisho kungabe sincane
• Ukudla okubhalansile nokunempilo
• Ukuzihlola zikhathi zonke

“Isifo sikashukela akudingi sibukwe njengesigwebo sentambo, ngokutholakala kusenesikhathi, ukushintsha indlela yokuphila nokwesekwa uyalawuleka. Isinyathelo sokuqala esolwazi, ukwazi ukuthi usengcupheni yini, ukwazi izimpawu nokuhlolwa," kuphetha uNkk Singels.
